Italy 20th to 26th January 2015

The fourth meeting of students and teachers involved in Comenius project was in January. This time Italy was the host of the meeting. Students went on a trip to the Italian town of Galatina, which turned out to be a place full of charm. Filled with Baroque buildings, narrow cobblestone roads seemed to be the village reassigned from the past. Walks in the midst of this remarkable landscape provided great moments. The first night in Galatina welcomed guests with the storm, rain and thunder but next days were filled with typically sunny weather. The hosts took care of an interesting programme full of workshops, trips and sightseeing of the most beautiful places in the area. Participants had the opportunity to get to know the local handcraft workshops, they could look at and help in the production of traditional Italian bread and taste the real Italian pizza. The coordinators took visitors to Lecce, where they visited the Castle. the Cathedral and the underground factory of olive oil. The biggest impression made on them the visit of Salento and scenic journey along the seafront. Hospitality and warmth of the Italian families has created a wonderful atmosphere and allowed to feel like at home.
